Procter Caststone has published a free guide that explains to
architects and specifiers how to maximise the benefits of cast stone so
as to make properties more attractive to buyers and, therefore, more
profitable.
Cast stone can be extremely economical in comparison
with alternative building materials, especially where repetitive work
is involved, yet cast stone products add significant perceived value to
housing developments. They can also be used to incorporate styling
features within prestige projects, mimic traditional details in
alterations to period properties or infill developments, or create
bespoke internal features such as fireplace surrounds.
Already around 100 architects and specifiers have
requested 'Understanding Cast Stone.' This publication shows how best
to take advantage of the versatility and cost-effectiveness of cast
stone, whether the products in question are one-offs or larger
quantities. 'Understanding Cast Stone' contains eight A4 pages of
detailed information covering design, site practice, aftercare and
maintenance. There is also a comprehensive list of applicable British
Standards and Eurocodes.
'Understanding Cast Stone' provides an insight into
how cast stone products are manufactured, what can be achieved with
cast stone, and how cast stone products should be designed so as to aid
manufacturing and handling. Furthermore, getting the product and
installation design right from the outset can make a significant
difference to the cast stone maintaining its good appearance in the
long-term.
In addition, a few simple precautions taken during
handling, storage and installation will ensure the cast stone products
do not sustain damage that could lead to them having to be repaired or
replaced. The guide also provides advice on maintenance and cleaning.
Procter has a tradition of excellence and
craftsmanship that dates back over 260 years, yet many of the design
and manufacturing processes it uses to create cast stone products are
truly state-of-the-art. Procter looks to develop long-term
relationships with customers by delivering high-quality products and
exceptional standards of service.
