Today the company uses state-of-the-art design and manufacturing techniques, backed by a commitment to outstanding service levels, to ensure customers receive the information, products and service that they require.
From its site in Garforth, West Yorkshire, Procter Caststone manufactures a wide range of standard units as well as bespoke products to architects' designs. A combination of in-house CAD design capability, mouldmaking facilities, skilled craftsmanship and automated production processes ensure high-quality products regardless of whether the quantities being produced are large or small. Manufacturing processes are generally in accordance with the requirements of BS 1217:1997 'Specification for cast stone.'
Procter Caststone provides customers with a complete service. Technical staff provide free consultation to specifiers and architects to ensure that cast stone features are specified so as to maximise cost-effectiveness and long-term performance. Detailed quotations can be provided against architects' drawings or bills of materials, or budget prices can be given on request. Site meetings can be arranged to discuss detailed requirements, agree schedules, inspect existing stonework, take dimensions, and advise on handling and installation procedures.
If bespoke cast stone units are required, Procter Caststone can prepare CAD drawings or work from architects' CAD files. Drawings are submitted to the client for approval before accurate production moulds are manufactured.
Cast stone units are manufactured under closely controlled conditions to ensure batch-to-batch repeatability and consistently high standards. All units are 100 per cent inspected prior to being packed, protected and shrink-wrapped onto pallets. A barcode labelling systems guarantees traceability throughout the production process, and deliveries are made by Procter Caststone's own vehicles to ensure they arrive in first-class condition.
In addition to cast stone, Procter also offers a range of concrete products, including precast and prestressed concrete lintels, padstones, coloured and plain fence posts, and purpose-made concrete products.
